Advantages of Vapour Blasting
Vapour blasting does not use harsh chemicals that are bad for the environment.
The water acts both as a lubricant and a barrier so the abrasive material is not impregnated into a softer substrate like aluminium, brass, or bronze.
It supports restoration instead of unnecessary waste and consumption and won’t remove castings or important identifiers in the process.
It will also help expose cracks or damage to parts.
There is no significant change in tolerances, so machined surfaces and fits will be closely maintained. You simply can’t do that with normal dry media blasting. There is also no heat warping, even on thin parts.
Some items like carburetors can be left in there semi assembled state. There is no need to remove every single little nut and bolt to do a thorough job of restoring the surface finish.
